Reducing Our Environmental Impact

Have you ever thought about how big companies and small businesses can have an enormous negative impact on the planet? Churning through huge amounts of paper, travel kilometres and electricity each day? We have. It’s something we’ve thought about a lot. And we know it’s time to do better.

That’s why we’re the first carbon neutral real estate agency in Western Australia. Our environmental commitment is one of our core business values. We’re always looking for ways to do more, with less impact on the environment.

How We're Doing it

We’re moving towards paperless offices. So unless required by law, we no longer provide paper documents to our clients. Every new client file is digital. Soon we’ll see the end of paper files gathering dust in a storage room as we transition to more sophisticated ways of doing business.

We use digital signing for lease documents and communicate with our clients by phone, email or SMS.

We plant enough trees to offset our carbon every year. We also plant an additional tree for each and every property leased, as well as every successful property sale to offset the carbon created during the process. So, when you buy, sell or lease with us, you’re helping protect the environment. And that’s something we can all feel good about.

We have a fleet of hybrid vehicles which are reducing our environmental impact, as they have lower fuel consumption and less CO₂ emissions than petrol or diesel vehicles. In the future, when Perth infrastructure catches up, we’ll move to electric vehicles.

We’ve also reduced our travel through better scheduling practices and various other initiatives. One way we’re reducing our mileage, for instance, is by allowing our property managers to work from home instead of the office.

We use renewable solar energy at our head office and have a full recycling program at all sites, which allows us to reduce the amount of waste we produce.

Working in Partnership

We work with Ecologi to offset our carbon footprint. We’re growing a forest and funding carbon reduction projects in Australia and across the world. Thanks to our partnership with Ecologi, around 3,000 trees will be planted, and 300 tonnes of CO2 will be removed from the environment this year alone.
